The Performance Health Academy of Warrenville, Illinois hosted education on splinting last Saturday, January 13th in the 2B H.D. Smith Tiered Classroom. The class was held from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and was taught by Cindy McGuire and Dr. Kristen Davin, both Occupational Therapists with Memorial Medical Center.
Next week, all of Home Health and Hospice, who make up a large portion of Memorial Home Services, will participate in an annual skills day revolving around infection control processes.
Andy Hazelrigg, Manager of Environmental Safety, will be leading education next week surrounding specific Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. These types of regulations are what our external contractors have to be focused on when working in a hospital environment.
Ashley Farrow, who is one of four Clinical Learning Consultants within the Organization Learning department, along with one of the Nursing Outcomes Improvement Facilitators (NOIFs), will be leading a one-on-one simulation next week to assist a member of Memorial's nursing workforce with delegating tasks to other nursing team members that work on their unit.
Next week, Dr. De La Cruz, Tim Milner and Monica Sharick, both Simulation Consultants in the 3rd floor Simulation Center, along with a few other Emergency Medicine physicians will participate in education on the new Laerdal-SonoSim Ultrasound Trainers.
